Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s Birthday and Read Across America 2009 at the West Wyandotte Library, 1737 N. 82nd St., Kansas City, Kansas! Hear a story, play a game and do a craft. All ages welcome. If you intend to bring a group of more than 5, please call ahead at (913) 596-5800. Kids under 9 must be with an adult. Wednesday, March 4, 10 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. (Please come to only one of the two sessions.)

Our Growing Readers video! This video is part of a KCKPL county-wide early literacy initiative, designed to help parents engage their children in reading at an early age. Studies show that the more children are exposed to language and literacy before they start school, the better equipped they are to become successful readers.
This video stars KCKPL patrons reading to their children, along with several library-loving community leaders.
